Stop Motion Animator is a program for creating stop-motion videos. It allows you to capture video through your webcam or any other digital or analog capture device. Individual frames are captured by pressing the "Grab" button. When the video is finished, the program will save it in an AVI file.
You can set the number of frames the program will capture on each take, as well as how many frames per second the video will display when played back.
To simulate movement of still objects, you will need to move them slightly after each frame has been taken. This is where the onion skinning functionality comes in handy. Using it, you can mix the live image with previously taken frames, thus seeing how the live feed compares with the previous frames. Changing the "onion skin level", you will apply different grades of transparency to the live image.
Stop Motion Animator allows you to select the video capture device to use. You can also adjust different parameters for optimal results, such as brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, and gamma, among others. You can also choose what palette to use while capturing the video. In brief, Stop Motion Animator is an easy-to-follow way of creating stop-motion videos using non-professional video capture devices.
